General site questions

Questions and Answers

Q: What is informer Live!?
A: informer Live! is a brand new source of interactive information for financial adviser’s investment, tax and financial planning education.

This simple to use, media website features quality live and recorded video, audio and text content. These will feature through the following channels:

Head to Head: Monthly live video show featuring leading fund managers in debate. This video is made on demand soon after the live event is completed.

Trailblazer: On demand video coverage of the trailblazer event highlights.

The Knowledge: Regular live and on-demand specialist training webcasts for advisers, featuring Skandia’s acknowledged experts.

Indicator: Online audio webcast adaptation of Skandia’s existing print Sentiment Indicator.

FundTALK: Indexed library of upcoming web conferences from fund management groups and on-demand fund updates.

Soapbox: Innovative ‘user created content’ concept, where advisers leave their views on a pre-selected topic by telephone message or through voting in online polls. These views are presented in a round-up podcast each month.

Q: How can I view these webcasts?
A: As you navigate the website you will notice webcasts are distributed across the site. Recorded webcasts are available for on demand viewing at any time. You can view these by clicking play audio or play video buttons. We also run live webcasts (these are described further in this document).
Q: So as well as being able to watch lots of recorded webcasts I can actually attend live webcasts online?
A: Yes, in addition to the recorded webcasts we will be running a series of live events through this website. These are promoted as forthcoming events in the site; you can confirm your attendance to these and add them to your PC calendar with single clicks within the site. To attend a live event, simply go to the site homepage just prior to the event start time. The event will be clearly marked with a LIVE NOW indicator. To take part click ‘Enter event’ (note that these will only be displayed just prior to and during the live event). More information on live events is included below.
Q: What if I miss a live event? Can I see them again?
A: All live events will be published (usually within 24 hours of the live event) on the site as on demand recordings for viewing at a future date. So if you or your colleagues missed a show or want to watch it again this will offer instant access.
Q: I also see podcast buttons, what are these?
A: Podcasts offer an alternative way to listen to an audio show; it involves downloading the audio file onto your PC so that you can play it back at any time.
Q: How can I find what I’m looking for?
A: All content on the site is displayed within the main themed channels; Head to Head, informer articles, the Knowledge, Pathfinder, presenter, indicator, Soapbox, Top Table debate and trailblazer. However, content is also categorised by topic, product area and speaker, you can use the ‘Search by filter’ facility to find site wide content by these categories.
Q: I seem to have difficulty watching or hearing webcasts.
A: If you are experiencing difficulties viewing our webcast please visit our support area to test your PC and check your media streaming.
